Volcanoes Safaris named winner of the Marie Claire UK Sustainability Awards 2023

Volcanoes Safaris are honoured to be named winner of the Marie Claire UK Sustainability Awards 2023 in the Independent Hotels category. Giles Gibbons, founder of Good Business, and Sustainability Awards judge commented “Volcanoes Safaris is an excellent business leading the way in eco-tourism. We need sustainable tourism to get funds to support the planet's natural ecosystem – and this project shows the way." Special recognition was given to the Kyambura Gorge Eco-tourism Project, Bwindi Bar, and the Mount Gahinga Batwa Village, projects organised by Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust. “We are delighted to win this award and be recognised for our long-term vision to develop lodges that have a low-impact on the environment, are sensitive to local cultures and aesthetics and use resources in a responsible and sustainable way.
