The Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust team won first place at the 2025 Uganda Wildlife Ranger Challenge! 

Congratulations to the Kidepo Valley National Park team for winning for Ranger Category! Running in the Sponsors, Partners and Supporters category at the race in Murchison Falls National Park, the VSPT team competed alongside 14 teams including wildlife rangers, safari companies, conservation organisations, media and others. The race is over 21 km along the Nile delta, with each runner carrying a 22kg backpack. 

The Volcanoes Safaris team included Head Guide Francis Kiwanuka, Kyambura Lodge Manager Isaiah Businge and wildlife guides Saidi Kakuru, Ivan Wamala and Andrew Kato, raced alongside highly distinguished fellow runners including James Musinguzi, Executive Director of Uganda Wildlife Authority and Lisa Chesney MBE, British High Commissioner to Uganda. Thank you to the Uganda Wildlife Authority, The Game Rangers Association of Africa, Tusk Trust, and the Uganda Conservation Fund for organizing this event supporting rangers and conservation across Africa.
