'Gushimisha' The Heart of Volcanoes Safaris Hospitality

The hospitality at Volcanoes Safaris lodges is based on the Kinyarwanda term ‘gushimisha’, which means to be warm, welcoming and charming. 

Our lodge staff are all from the Great Lakes region and most are from the local villages neighbouring the lodges. The service at the lodges embodies the deep traditions of the local people, which are based on values and respect for family and elders.
